The evolution of Rose Jewelry. We have 20 years experience in growing and preserving miniature roses to be used in the demanding world of fashion jewelry. But it has taken 18 years to develop special polymers strong enough to be able to preserve a rose to be handled as a rosary and rose beads. We call it Rose Armor. We hope we can answer your questions, if not please Email Us! and we will add your question and our answer to the list. We thank you for your interest and patronage.

  • Are the roses real?
All of our miniature roses are real and grown in our greenhouses in Albany, Oregon. These roses cannot be purchased elsewhere on the commercial market. Our roses are an exclusive product which demands specialized growing techniques.

  • How long will they last?
The polymers that we use have gone through 'rapid age testing' and have not broken down after, a simulated, 100 years. We use a UV coating as well, but intense sunlight and excessive heat still will cause damage. Don't believe your rose jewelry in your automobile. As a piece of art, in your home, they will last indefinitely.

  • Why are they different from other preserved roses?
Our roses are not stiff and brittle which in the past has been the case . Our roses are FLEXIBLE using state-of-the-art elastic polymers. The polymers are a coating, they are not absorbed within the rose petal so there might be tiny cracks within the petal itself but the polymer, that coats the bud, holds it all together. Most of these tiny microfractures will not be visible except with the very dark red and black red roses.

  • How long will they keep their color?
Ahhh, the color question. This is one of the most difficult problems that Ruth Ann and I have had to solve. Most of the roses used in our rosaries are tinted with an alcohol base color enhancer. The color components in this product will not fade once they are coated with our ultraviolet blocker. The natural colored roses, mainly the dark red have a natural color longevity that is well-known to folks that preserve red roses. Our white/ecru roses are lightly air brushed, on the tips, with white lacquer to allow them to keep their pearly white color indefinitely. Most of our pastel rosebuds have this pearly look.

  • How well does the jewelry ship and travel?
Our roses will not chip around the edge like the old-fashioned brittle types. With reasonable packing they can be shipped virtually anywhere, we use shredded waxed paper for packaging. Even though the roses will not chip or fall apart their flexibility does allow them to be crushed. Please do not put the New York telephone directories on top of your jewelry it will flatten out like a pancake.

  • Is the Jewelry waterproof?
The construction methods we use do not allow the rosaries to be absolutely waterproof. They are water resistant, they can get wet with little effect, a rain shower will not harm them. And if they fall in the puddle by accident and picked up immediately there will not be any permanent damage just blot  the roses with soft tissue and let them air dry. Do not put Your Jewelry away in a closed container if it is wet or damp, let the Jewelry dry out thoroughly.

  • Our jewelry is handmade. Your piece is not some bauble mass-produced in a third-world country. It is made in America by artisans. Each piece is unique, made from materials not found at the local market.
  • We have designed and built our jewelry to be an heirloom. We want it to last through many generations. That does not mean that it is indestructible.
  • The best care in the world will not protect from accidents. For $9.00 plus shipping and handling, we will repair or replace jewelry that has been damaged.
  • All orders have $6.00 added to them for shipping and handling. This is for USPS Priority Mail. If you need another mode of shipping, be prepared to pay the difference.
  • We do not have a printed version of our catalog. Everything we make is in our Internet catalogs. If you don't see what you're looking for, call or email. Because everything we do is made to order, variations on design or color can often be accomodated.
  • Nothing we have is ever kept in inventory. Your jewelry will be made as soon as we receive your order. Time is needed to make this happen. Because of our Web-based interface, if you order online, your credit card is often charged immediately. Do not assume this means that your order has been shipped. Normal production time is between 2-7 days. This time may increase around holidays. If you order by check or money order, production on your order will begin as soon as payment is received. Be patient, we promise you will pleasantly surprised at the beauty of your roses and jewelry.
  • We appologize that the true beauty of the rose does not come through very well on the Internet. In order to make pictures load at an acceptable rate, the image quality isn't as great as it could be. Believe us, these flowers are wonderful.
